Build Overview

Shield Wall Titan is a melee / semi-AoE build centered on Shield Wall . Two support-gem uniques — Ahn's Citadel and Kaom's Madness — crack your walls into giant forking fissures that other skills then detonate into "giant earthshaking explosions."

The combat loop in a nutshell:

1. Place walls (Shield Wall) — laying down fissures.
2. Detonate the fissures with a warcry or movement skill — Fortifying Cry, Infernal Cry, Leap Slam, Shield Charge, and Sunder all work.
3. War Banner + Daresso's Passion delivers 100% banner uptime for single target.
4. The Titan ascendancy — Hulking Form (amplifies all small passives) and Stone Skin (armour) — pushes armour stacking to the limit.

The build's core scaling identity: your damage depends solely on the Armour value of your shield. Your main-hand weapon's damage is completely irrelevant — only auxiliary mods like +skill levels / physical-as-extra / armour break matter on it.

• Warcries provide Guard + life recovery; survival pressure is low.

• Runs fine with zero uniques — uniques only raise the ceiling.
• Handles virtually every league mechanic.

Cons

• Single target feels weak if your gear isn't up to par.
• Multi-color skills and supports mean attributes (Str/Dex/Int) need careful management.
• Early mana is uncomfortable (grab a Mana Leech roll ASAP).
• The full rotation has a lot of buttons — optimal output takes practice.

Skills In Depth

Leveling

• Start with Shield Wall as your main damage, but don't level Leap Slam, Infernal Cry, or Seismic Cry early (their mana costs balloon).
• Only level Infernal Cry once mana feels comfortable, or after linking Lifetap .
• Keep Armour Break III as your armour-break source until your weapon rolls "Break Armour equal to % of Physical Damage."

Mapping

Main loop:

• Lay forking fissures with Shield Wall;

Boss rotation (full version):

1. Infernal Cry → Exerts your following attacks.

Priorities / Key Notables

• Heavy investment in Strength nodes along the main path (life AND armour).
• Take just enough Dex / Int to meet skill and support gem requirements.
• Roaring Cries Notable — paired with Enraged Warcry II , it lets Fortifying Cry bypass its cooldown by spending Rage.

Weapon-Set Coloring

• Red passives → allocated to Weapon Set 1 (attack skills).
• Green passives → allocated to Weapon Set 2 (warcries).
• White → shared as normal.
• Bind all attack skills to Weapon Set 1 and Fortifying Cry / Infernal Cry to Weapon Set 2 to maximize weapon-set-specific nodes.

• Increases to Armour.
• +#% of Armour also applies to Elemental Damage (the key defensive multiplier).
• +# to Strength (indirect life and armour).

• Cap all three resistances at 75% first;
• Find one Mana Leech roll to fix mana;
• Shield upgrades judged by one criterion only: highest Armour.

Endgame

Mana Sustain

From the original guide: "A single Mana Leech roll on a Ring or Gloves solves all your mana issues."

One Mana Leech mod fixes everything. If early game is still rough:

• Don't level Leap Slam, Infernal Cry, or Seismic Cry.
• Link Lifetap to Infernal Cry to bridge the transition.

Tips & Tricks

• Pre-lay fissures: set up Shield Walls before a boss spawns or before popping an essence.

• Atlas route: once your main atlas tree is stable, prioritize boss splinters and run Xesht / King in the Mists / Olroth / Simulacrum / Arbiter. Early on, farm Researcher Strongboxes + Essences.
