Build Overview

Acolyte of Chayula Ice Strike Monk drives a unique defensive layer — Darkness — off quarterstaff cold strikes. Embrace the Darkness removes all Spirit and replaces it with a Darkness buffer that soaks damage that would otherwise cut Energy Shield; Chayula's Gift raises the chaos-resistance cap to 85%, and Deepening Shadows converts that chaos resistance into a larger maximum Darkness pool. On offence, Ice Strike freezes rapidly while Herald Of Ice shatters frozen packs across the screen.

Gameplay Loop

Shattering Palm herds and marks a pack;
Ice Strike freezes and detonates, with Herald Of Ice shattering across the screen;
On bosses drop Tempest Bell, then Charged Staff to convert Power Charges into extra lightning shockwaves;
Keep Hand Of Chayula + Combat Frenzy rolling to stack charges and frenzy;
Tankiness rides on the Darkness buffer, backed by Wind Dancer / Ghost Dance evasion layers.

Leveling

Level with Glacial Cascade until you beat Count Geonor, grabbing the quest gems Killing Palm and Frozen Locus. Switch to Ice Strike with Cold Infusion as soon as it is available.
