Build Overview

Archmage Spark is a consensus S-tier caster in 0.5. The core is Spark plus Archmage — converting a huge mana pool into lightning damage while bouncing sparks blanket the screen. Cast on Shock auto-triggers Lightning Conduit on shocked enemies, Orb of Storms keeps shocking and applies Lightning Exposure, and Conductivity curses down resistance. Explosive damage and top-tier clear make it one of the best mappers in the patch.

Gameplay Loop

1. Drop Orb of Storms to shock and apply Lightning Exposure;
2. Sweep with Spark — sparks ricochet to fill the screen, with Archmage turning mana into massive lightning damage;
3. Once enemies are shocked, Cast on Shock auto-fires Lightning Conduit for concentrated burst;
4. Conductivity shreds lightning resistance for more penetration;
5. Blink to reposition and Clarity to sustain mana (mana is damage — keep it maxed).

Leveling

Bridge the early game with straight Spark. Take Constant Gale first, then Force of Will for an immediate power and survivability jump. You don't need the uniques to start — prioritise mana, lightning damage, crit and shock effect; Archmage transforms once it comes online. Cap resistances and keep enough energy shield to map safely.

Gear (real setup)

• Offhand — Mahuxotl's Machination: a top defensive shield; the tankiness core;
• Body — Morior Invictus: the attribute and defensive backbone;
• Helmet — Atziri's Disdain: mana / energy-shield boost;
• Amulet — The Everlasting Gaze: mana and caster scaling;
• Belt — Ingenuity: greatly boosts ring affixes (a high-end power piece);
• Melting Maelstrom flask for mana; the The Adorned jewel amplifies your other unique jewels.

Passives & Ascendancy

Ascendancy order: Constant Gale → Force of Will → Strike Twice → Scouring Winds. The 143-point tree prioritises mana, lightning/elemental damage, crit, shock effect and energy shield; "mana is damage" is the core, so passives and gear both revolve around maximising mana pool and recovery.
